What is it?
The Swedish Open will host the European leg of the 2026 UBC Regional Contender series — the 4th and final of four global qualifiers. The winner earns a spot in the UBC Contender Semifinals in Monte Carlo before the Backgammon World Championship.
Who can enter?
All BMAB Masters and Grand Masters from any country, with a proven PR average below 6.5.
Format
• 12 preliminary matches (7-point matches), split across two days
• Top 6 on points + 2 best PR wildcards advance to the knockouts
• Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals on Day 3 (knockout, up to 4 matches per round)
Schedule
• Day 1 (Tue 30 Jun 12:00 PM): Rounds 1–6
• Day 2 (Wed 1 Jul 12:00 PM): Rounds 7–12
• Day 3 (Thu 2 Jul): Quarter& Semi Finals from 10:00 AM
(Each round is approximately 75 minutes)
Prize & Progression
The winner represents Europe at the UBC Contender Semifinals in Monte Carlo.
